More Menopause Classes Added!

We are pleased to let you know we will be introducing 4 new exercise classes, aimed at those affected by the menopause. Here is a run through of our Menopause exercise programme in its entirety:

🌸 Menofit

  • Mondays @ 18:45 – 19:30 with Mel in studio 2
  • Thursdays @ 11:30 – 12:15 with Mel in studio 1
  • Saturdays @ 12:00 – 12:45 with Mel in studio 1

These are 45-minute, easy to follow classes geared up to help you feel better and look after your health. The focus will be on Menopause related topics like bone and heart health, along with an introduction to strength training, which particularly helps with mid-section weight gain. After the class we hold a Meno-meet up in the meeting room

🌸 Menofit Lite

  • Fridays @ 12:00 – 12:30 with Jill in studio 2

Introducing MenoFit Lite, the low intensity exercise class perfect for those going through menopause that are dealing with joint or mobility issues. MenoFit Lite offers all the benefits of our regular MenoFit classes in a gentler, supportive environment.

🌸 Menofit Strength

  • Tuesdays @ 17:15 with Sandra or Dionne in the gym
  • Thursdays @ 11:15 – 11:45 with Jill in the gym

MenoFit Strength is the perfect workout class for those going through the menopause. This light weight circuit-based class will introduce you to the benefits of strength training, helping you build a stronger and healthier body.

🌸 Menofit Cycle

  • Tuesdays @ 11:00 – 11:45 with Lydia in studio 3

Our immersive Menofit cycling class is aimed at anyone feeling the affects of perimenopause / menopause/ postmenopause. This class is a low intensity exercise on a stationary bike. It combines cardio and endurance in a 45 minute session, this will include a warm up and a cool down.  Not only is it great for giving you all the cardiovascular gains, but you will also get the benefits from increasing endorphins and being part of our Menofit community. 

Look out for these on the MLC app or our online booking system! Fit Life members will be able to book 7 days in advance. Each class is £5.75 or included in a Fit Life membership.

Try Curling at Moray Leisure Centre!

Have You Always Wanted To Try Curling?

Curling is a sport in which two teams of four players each slide 40 pound granite stones down a sheet of ice toward a target at the other end. Each team tries to get more of its stones closer to the centre of the target than the other team.

There is a great curling community here at Moray Leisure Centre with qualified coaches ready to show you the ropes!

We hold regular Try Curling sessions for people age 8+. All equipment is supplied including brushes and sliders. All you need is warm, loose fitting clothing and clean, flat, rubber soled shoes (trainers are ideal) to change into for curling. Delivery sticks allow stones to be delivered from a standing position or wheelchair and are available for those with mobility issues.

Menopause classes at Moray Leisure Centre

We have Sandra and Mel here to talk to you all about our new Menopause classes and support group starting in January.

✨2 new weekly exercise classes starting in January! ✨

These are 45-minute, easy to follow classes geared up to help you feel better and look after your health. The focus will be on Menopause related topics like bone and heart health, along with an introduction to strength training, which particularly helps with mid-section weight gain:

🌸 Mondays at 6:30pm in studio 2 (starting 9th January)

🌸 Thursdays at 11:30am in studio 2 (starting 12th January)

These will be bookable a week in advance via the MLC app, our online booking system or via reception on 01343 550033. These classes are included as part of your Fit Life membership or £5.75 PAYG.

🌸 We’ll also be having a weekly meno-meet up which will be on Thursdays at 12:15 after the class in our Café. A chance to have a chat, a coffee and to support each other. We will be there giving practical hints and tips to enable you to build up healthy habits.

These are free but please book ahead so we can keep numbers at a safe and manageable level for our café staff.

⚠️ This means that there will be no public session on from 12:00 until 17:00 in either pools. Lessons will be on as normal and the public are welcome to come along and spectate at any time.

From 17:00 – 19:00 we will have a beach ball session! 🐡

Swim Crash Courses

⚠️ Please note, we’ll be taking bookings from Friday, 30th September

Swimming every day, even if it’s only for a short period, can help a child to progress quickly with their swimming.

During our crash courses, children build every day on what they’re been taught the day before, and without the week’s break of standard swimming programmes their recall is much better. We often see their swimming improve swiftly!

For levels 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and 3

Dates & Times

10th October – 21st October (Monday – Friday)

Students will be allocated a 30 minute sessions between 8am and 11am by our lessons coordinator.

£30 (5 lessons) for non members and included in Fit Life

1-1 lessons

We will also be holding 1-1 swim lessons for all levels throughout the 2 weeks. Monday – Friday. Students will be allocated a 30 minute lesson between 10:00 and 12:00.

Aqua Run

Experience the excitement of play challenges, races and fun on the water with our Aqua Run sessions – an exciting, inflatable obstacle course that is laid out in the main pool.

Children must be 8 years and over and a confident swimmer to take part.

Rainbow Castle Soft Play

Give your little ones a weekend treat with a soft play session. Rainbow Castle Soft Play will be open during the weekends.

Rainbow Castle Childcare Playscheme

We’re bringing back our popular and affordable childcare service for the duration of the October Holidays.

Based at Rainbow Castle Childcare, little ones enrolled onto our Playscheme will enjoy activities such as..

  • Trips to the park
  • Access to large garden with play equipment and toys
  • Children’s choice activities

£4 an hour (minimum 3 hours per day)

Sessions can be booked and paid for the duration of the playscheme, however parents are able to pay up to 4:30pm the night before any sessions required.

⚠️ Please note, all children must have a completed registration form before any bookings can be made, which can be collected directly from Rainbow Castle Childcare.

Bookings can be made the day before you wish to attend.

Remember, receipts must be handed to staff before session otherwise children will not be permitted to attend play scheme.
