Chief Executive Officer – Moray Leisure Centre

Moray Leisure Centre is recruiting a Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership and direction for the organisation. This senior leadership role will involve managing the organisation’s operations, governance, and long‑term planning, working closely with the Board, senior management, and key stakeholders including Moray Council. The successful candidate will champion the company’s values, support organisational growth, ensure effective governance, and lead a high‑performing team. Responsibilities also include financial oversight, policy development, and representing the organisation both internally and externally.

Experience

  • Considerable achievement in the leisure industry at Senior Management/Chief Officer level in a large organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience in balancing the delivery of public services with commercial opportunity.

Education and Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Hold a professional qualification in an appropriate field or membership of a professional body, or equivalent experience.

  • Commitment to the health and safety of employees and customers.
  • Ability to analyse political, legal, and business environments, think strategically and solve problems.
  • Ability to analyse financial information and manage budgets effectively.
  • Ability to improve service delivery through various initiatives, e.g., maximising the benefits of information communication technology.
  • Ability to manage conflict, underperformance, and inappropriate behaviour.
  • Ability to allocate and delegate tasks to make best use of resources.

Skills and Abilities Specific to the Role

  • Understanding of corporate governance.
  • Positive experience of managing major change and the ability to manage the human aspects of change.
  • Commitment to eliminating discrimination and promoting equality in service delivery and employment.
